TRENDSETTER

MY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! oh how I love you all! How are you doing?! I hope you're doing well, I am doing well!!

It is a beautiful Wednesday here in the Mexico city mtc!

Everyday is beautiful here actually! Every morning at 7 a.m.  as I am walking through the corridor I look up and see the beautiful moon then I look and see the gorgeous sunrise. It is so beautiful here!! but so loud.. they have this thing in Mexico where the days of the weeks are the days of the saints.. and they shoot off canons! So if its a popular saint it is loud all day long. You can tell the difference between a canon and a gunshot for sure. sorry mom.. haha

The most spiritual event this week happened to be last Friday. It is a thing called TRC. I don't know what it stands for but it is TRC.  We actually got to teach a real person! He happened to  be struggling with going to church because he wasn't receiving answers to his prayers. So we just continued to get to know him. Then I just asked him if we could pray right there during our lesson  and he prayed and cried.. and I had no idea what he was saying but the spirit was so strong. It was  amazing. Definitely one of my favorite and most uplifting moment I have experienced  this whole time.

Love it. I cant wait to get out in the field.

Oh my email topic..  yes, you know I am a trendsetter. hahahah Three  weeks ago I  just wanted peanut butter and nutella to eat with a spoon. So I put it in a cup because we aren't allowed to have it on a plate. dumb rule right? so anyways I was just eating it one day then the next day like 20 kids had cups full. Be proud mom and dad. I am teaching people the goodness of peanut butter and nutella :):)

Guess who gave a talk on Sunday? Yeah that's right, YA GIRL!!  I gave a talk on the restoration of the church all in Spanish. It was  supposed to be about 5 minutes. I made it 2 minutes and 26 seconds. (someone timed me)  but hey I gave a talk and it was great :) They just  randomly pick people to give talks! So everyone always has to be ready.  So scary,  but awesome too! but more scary.  So hopefully I will not  have to give another one. Plus we have general conference coming up soon! I am excited for that!

 Shout out time!!

Shout out to my best friend Malia Kasteler for singing her heart out in the choir on Tuesday night at the devotional with Russell M Ballard!! Looking cute in your stripped shirt .

Tuesday night devotional was so awesome! One thing I got from the devotional Russell M Ballard gave ( he didn't come to Mexico he was in Provo and they broadcast it to all the MTC's) was how he talked about how precious just one soul is in the sight of God! It seriously was the most amazing talk every. It was very motivating. Because when we have one investigator blow us off, or someone close that door, there soul is so precious, and our Father in Heaven wants that soul to be saved. and it is our job. AMAZING
Shout out to SHERISE for the Krispy Kreme Donuts  :) love you

Shout out to Breton Day for the LETTER.. best letter ever!
Shout out to my mom for the TRAIL MIX
Shout out to Rebecca and Hannah for the LETTER OF LOVE!

Oh my goodness we watched the saddest yet most amazing video in class. look it up on youtube! It is "enduring love".. it is a Mormon message too I believe! look it up.. mom you'll cry, and you too grandma.

SHOUT OUT TO BRITTNEY JO FOR BEING 20 YEARS OLD. What! What! So old yet so BEAUTIFUL!

LOVE YOU ALL
The mission is great
The church is true
Temples are amazing

Hello my lovelies :)

Wow, I seriously cannot believe another week has passed. It's weird how fast time goes by. The days are so long but  the weeks are so  fast. It is  awesome! So awesome!  (except the food)

We had a devotional lat night.. Tuesday night which was awesome! They broadcasted it from Provo!!  Richard G Scott gave a talk.. but first the choir sang.. and you know who I saw in that choir!!!??? IN THE PROVO MTC:: yup you guessed it MY BEST FRIEND MALIA!! she was wearing yellow and looked so happy! She is headed to Japan!! So shout out to you mato! I saw you singing your heart out! It was so nice to see her face.

Richard G Scott talked to us, about the power of prayer and how important it is. Everywhere we are we can pray to our Heavenly Father. Prayer is such an awesome gift. Lets get this straight.. I have never prayed so much in one day  than I do at the MTC we pray about 20 times a day.. OR MORE! yeah the power of prayer is amazing.

I LOVE MY DISTRICT SO MUCH!! well yes... like so much! We have 16 hours days and are always together!! I love them! We love to get to know each other, it is so much fun! I know I have met some elders that will be my friends after the mission! and one Hermana Brown!  Hermana Brown is in another district, but she will defiantly be my friend after the  mission!! Elder Kyle Webb and Elder Cortland Adams will forever be my friends. it is awesome! We get along so well! I will send a picture.

Sunday night we had the best devotional too!! oh my goodness.. Brother Cates! He is  the 2nd man in charge at the MTC! He talked to us about leaving the past at home and to always stay on target and to know our purpose as missionaries! It was seriously so amazing! I wish you all could have been there! It was  an eye opener of how important it is to focus on the now, instead of the past. Our time is now.

We have been singing the Mexican National Anthem for about 3 weeks now... look it up on YouTube!! It was Mexico's Independence Day on Monday! the 15th I believe... so they had  traditional Mexican dancers come in and dance for us for about 2 hours!! It was so cool. It was so loud Monday night!! The Mexicans know how to party...  WOW, they were SOOOO LOUD. I couldn't sleep all night because they were partying. We could hear fireworks all night.. and all day.. haha they never stopped.

My two teachers are the kindest people ever!! We have a morning teacher and a night teacher. We teach them both, they are our fake investigators! It is cool! We teach fake investigators every day!   I don't know Spanish but I can testify and that is super cool!! I say somethings I don't even know I knew! it is amazing!  Spanish is hard! I can understand almost everything, and then I can say like 5% back haha but the church is true.
Oh my teachers names are Hermana Alvarado, and Hermano Lopez!! so cool!

I am so happy to be out here. It is awesome! I am so nervous to get out in the field. but I am excited for American food!  I am grateful for my family! I love you guys!!! I hope everything is going good at home!!

I love everyone and I hope that everyone loves me.

Thank you for your support!

adios

Hermana Widdison

P.S.  I love you Rebecca

Mountain View Mavericks now at the CCM

Kaylee's running buddy , Jensen, from Utah State University
Hermana Brown and Hermana Widdison

Thursday, September 11, 2014

The church is so true. It’s amazing. The book of Mormon is overwhelming how true and amazing it is.

I see Jensen everywhere, I love her to death! I hug her every time I see her! I have made so many friends here it is ridiculous! I love it. The elders will be funny, and introduce themselves to me by saying their first name and then basically giving me their email. I think it’s funny! But I love the people here.

It is amazing the spirit we have on this campus. We definitely have angels with us.  We all know it. There is a giant wall around the CCM and security guards but we feel there are stripling warriors guarding the walls. It is amazing.

I love my experience at the CCM. I am learning so much. I feel like I have grown so much. I have lost weight so I’m not growing that way!

You know that being a missionary we love mail!! So send me a letter please I would love one! It is through the website missionarypackagemx.com and you just type it up and they deliver it! How cool right? So you should do it if you love me.

The days here are so long. But the weeks go by so fast! We are in our classroom from 7:30a.m to12:00 p.m. then from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. its gym time. I go run my heart out. Then we are in the classroom from 3:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Except for out 45 minutes of dinner. So all day long we are in class, how crazy is that?

When it rains here, it is like a flood. It rains buckets!  It’s crazy!
Mom you’d go crazy! There are so many dogs barking here at night. It is like Colby only 1000 times worse! It’s annoying.

My favorite person here has to be Hermana Brown!!She is from Utah. My Aunt Kaye told me about her! I will send a picture, she is straight up my soul sister... we have the same clothes too!! Crazy

I love being a missionary. I am so grateful to be learning and growing as much as I can.

Oh funny story. There are Latinos here and they love Americans. They try to learn English! So this one elder was asking for sour patch kids... yup and guess who had the sour watermelon ones! Me!  I told him I would bring him some and he FLIPPED OUT like crazy ... he was almost in tears he was so happy. He took my name down and every time he saw me around he praised the ground I walked on. hahahaha he shook my hand for 10 minutes too.. He was very grateful!  We took a picture.

I have the best teachers! We have two teachers! One in the morning, and one at night! They are also our fake investigators! My teacher in the morning is Hermana Alvarado; I have really bonded with her. I love her. I am terrible at Spanish but she is just so awesome and she has told me everything about her life. Then my teacher at night is Hermano Lopez.  He is the coolest dude.  He is like 90 pounds and is so funny. He wants to be an English teacher! How odd right?  He’s teaching us Spanish…interesting.

In 1 Nephi 2:11, and 7:8 (hint hint ) read these for FHE or something awesome.

Nephi is telling his brothers why he is being a good example. His brothers then get mad.   I know that no matter who we are, if we strive to set an example of Christ we will be able to impact someone's life.  No matter where we are we always have something to do. We must live to have as many Christ like attributes in our lives as possible.

I know this church is true.  I am so grateful for the leaders of this church. President Monson has been called of God and heck so have I so I better make good use of my time! I am very grateful for priesthood holders. I love being surrounded by all these worthy young men. When you are worthy to hold the priesthood you hold the same power that Christ did. Which means you can perform the same miracles as Christ did when he was on this earth.  wowzers!! so go priesthood holders.

I LOVE YOU ALL

and you love me.. right?! right ,)
Love
Your home girl

 Keep me in your prayers

OH MY HECK I AM IN MEXICO

The first day in Mexico I wasn’t even at the CCM for even 10 minutes and what happens... JENSEN COMES UP AND TACKLES ME AND GIVES ME THE BIGGEST HUG!  It was such a blessing to see her. I see her all the time. I love it so much. It is amazing. She is awesome.  shout out to you Hermana Williams ;) hahaha

okay
lets  go

 whoot  whoot

I am happy to be here, but it is a struggle, don’t get me wrong it is way hard.  It doesn’t help that the food is AWFUL.  It is always Mexican food, which is terrible. I don't like it.  At every dinner and breakfast there is a peanut butter and nutella bar.. so that helps a little bit..  But it is awful.  The first few days I got sick because I tried the food to see if I liked it, and I never did. There is no food that I like, EXCEPT THE CHOCOLATE MILK!!!!  There is always chocolate milk for breakfast which is so dang good..yummm!!  On Tuesdays,  IT IS PIZZA NIGHT!!!    SOOOOO GOOD:  hahahha  I am starving  in here... oh which reminds me mom hey there is this website.. missionarypackagemx.com so bam, if you love me.... go for it !!

I love my district.  The elders are way awesome.  I connect with them more than the Hermanas.
We got to teach our first investigator on Friday night.  Yes, in Spanish. It was amazing. The spirit here at the CCM is beyond amazing. I enjoy every single moment of it (except meal time). Our teacher is awesome. We are in the classroom all day long!  Awful, yet awesome at the same time.

The CCM is beyond cool. It’s kind of like a prison.  haha it is 90 acres of gorgeous campus.. There are about 800 missionaries here right now. There is a giant wall around the CCM  with barbed wire..  Boom…Prison! But it is good.

I am on a spiritual high.  I love being a missionary. I love learning more.

MY SPANISH IS TERRIBLE!   So bad, waiting and praying for that gift of tongues. Patience is a virtue right.. Right?
We get one hour of gym time each day…and there is a …..TRACKKKKK!  So  happy about that. I look forward to gym time every day. I run about 4 miles I am so stressed so I run. My companion just sits there... yup. weird I know, everyone should love running.

But I seriously love being able to wear my name tag. That’s been an awesome thing to officially be a representative of this true church. So cool.

My goals for the 1st week of CCM..

1. Don’t flirt with elders... hhahaha you may think that I am joking.. But I am not.  I am striving to really have a missionary mindset, and to not think elders are cute, when actually they are really cute... and they are missionaries so that makes them CUTER: so no bueno
2. To say all my prayers in Spanish.  I know how to say a simply pray in Spanish.
3. Learn 100 words a day. May sound hard, but I have done it!!!!
4. To not wear more than one ring on each hand!! THIS ONE IS HARD: yeah first day they said no THUMB RINGS and only ONE ring per hand. I was so mad, why is that a rule? I love my rings! So I am only wearing 2 rings right now.

I live in casa 13.  In my closest of a bedroom there are 4 hermanas. Hermana Savage (my companion   who’s going to my mission.
Hermana Ka’aa  who is from Hawaii and Hermana Twtichell. Those two are going to Sacramento.
Guess what?  I don’t have a closet space. So guess who is living out of her suitcase for the next 5 weeks. Yup! your girl right here.

I wore my camo shirt I think on Monday. I didn’t even get in trouble. Go me. haha it was a good day  because I got to wear it. :)

I honestly love my mission. I knew it was going to be a struggle. I was ready and prepared for it.  It is amazing to be surrounded by the youth of the church and to know we are all here for the same reason. I keep comparing the CCM to a military base, because you always see people walking together, we are always in clumps and we just all look so official. We are the army of God. It is cool.

Always know I love mail :)

My address is long but here it is:

hint ;)

I just love the opportunity to be able to serve my loving savior. I am so beyond grateful to be a missionary right now in my life. I am trying to make the most of my mission in everything I do. I love it. It is awesome. Being a missionary has been one of the hardest yet most rewarding things I have ever been able to do. I keep comparing my mission to the 400. At first the CCM is like a dead sprint you have to get out and go as fast as you can, just like in the CCM you have to learn as much as you can. Then the next 200 meters is when I will be in the field. I will always have to stride it out, to keep my pace, and to never lose my motivation. The last 100m is the end, the hardest part of the whole race. You are ready to cross that line and to be done. The last 100m is the last part of my mission. To know that I am almost there, to never give up, to sprint to the end and to make the most of every moment I will have.

Yes, I love my 400

Everything you have is already inside of you. Perfect  moto for the mission.

Don’t slow down, never give up.

I love my district, I love my teacher Hermana Alvarado she is amazing. I love President Pratt. Everything here is amazing. The spirit is here and is amazing. It is here in a large supply.

yo se que la iglesia es verdadero y nuestro padre celestial es amoroso. yo soy las families son bendicion. las families son una parte central del plan dios. el evangelio de jesucristo fortalece a las families. estoy agradecido por mi familia.

I love my family. I am so very grateful for my parents and the choices they have made in their lives. I am grateful to be able to be on a mission. It is amazing. I am blessed.

Love you all!

Peace and blessing
